Life in Christ
/ Unity / Life in Christ

To live life through Christ is to allow His love, truth, and grace to shape every aspect of our existence. As Old Catholics, we believe that Jesus Christ is not only the Son of God but also the model for how we are called to live. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and by following Him, we discover the fullness of our humanity and the path to eternal salvation.

Living through Christ begins with a personal relationship with Him, nurtured through prayer, Scripture, and the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Reconciliation. In the Eucharist, we are united with Christ's sacrifice and receive the spiritual nourishment necessary to live as His disciples. In Confession, we encounter His mercy and are renewed by grace.

To live through Christ also means embracing His teachings in our daily lives. This involves loving God with all our heart, soul, and strength, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Christ calls us to humility, compassion, forgiveness, and justice. We are to be His hands and feet in the world, caring for the poor, the sick, and the marginalized.

Moreover, living through Christ requires surrender. It means placing our trust in Him, especially in times of suffering or uncertainty. As St. Paul wrote, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). Our lives are no longer our own; they become a reflection of Christ’s love and mission.

Ultimately, to live through Christ is to walk in the light, to live not for ourselves, but for the glory of God. It is a daily journey of faith, hope, and charity, a path that leads to holiness, peace, and eternal life with God.
